Rolf Schmidt is an electronics engineer with a keen interest in technology and the environment. In the 1980’s he worked for the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research which took him all over the world on board research ships, including an expedition to Antarctica.

Rolf now lives near Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland where he designed and operated a solar-powered passenger boat from 2003 until 2020. His presentations to date have covered a wide range of contemporary issues including climate change, artificial intelligence, and world citizenship.
